Modus Vivendi is one of Quebec’s leading independent French language publishers of nonfiction titles. Based in Montreal, the company was established in 1992 by its founder and CEO Marc Alain.
Modus Vivendi offers a wide range of nonfiction and illustrated titles, consisting primarily of reference and «how-to» books on subjects such as cooking, arts and crafts, home renovations and health.
In 1996, a division for young readers was created and named Presses Aventure. The success of this new imprint was resounding and immediate. It offers a wide range of products based on children’s favorite characters such as Dora The Explorer, Diego, Disney and The Backyardigans. It also features tween favorites such as Garfield and Bone. These famous characters constitute the brand name of the group.
In October 2008, another division was created: Editions Bravo! This imprint specilises in puzzles and games books such as brain bafflers, crosswords, logic puzzles, Sudoku, and IQ test books.
Finally, in 2010, Éditions Rouge marks the entry of the group in literature and the beginning of a new adventure ...
